High Stile via Sourmilk Gill and Bleaberry Tarn
ModerateThis out-and-back route starts in Buttermere and follows Sourmilk Gill to Bleaberry Tarn. From the tarn, ascend steeply to Red Pike before continuing along the ridge to High Stile. Retrace your steps to return to Buttermere, enjoying the expansive views on the descent.
High Stile and Fleetwith Pike from Gatesgarth
HardThis adventurous route combines High Stile with Fleetwith Pike. Starting at Gatesgarth, ascend Fleetwith Edge to Fleetwith Pike (648m) for panoramic views. Descend to the valley before tackling the steep ascent to High Crag and continuing along the ridge to High Stile. Descend via Red Pike and Bleaberry Tarn, returning to Gatesgarth.
High Stile from Ennerdale via High Crag
ModerateThis less commonly walked route starts in Ennerdale at Bowness Knott car park. Follow the valley track and ascend via Scarth Gap Pass to High Crag. Continue along the ridge to High Stile, savouring views of Ennerdale Water and the surrounding fells. Retrace your steps back to Ennerdale.
